NEW SUPER LUCKY’S TALE is a colourful 3D platformer and a sequel to Lucky’s Tale. If you’re a fan of 90s platformers like Banjo-Kazooie or its more contemporary spiritual beneficiary, Yooka-Laylee, this might be the game for you. You play as Lucky, a spunky fox who’s on an assignment to recycle the Book of Ages from the evil Jinx. While this isn’t an extreme story, the game does what it sets out to do: nourish a fun, family-tight platformer occasion. Super Lucky’s Tale includes all the platformer staples, including coin and item packs, simple puzzles, a variety of worlds, and boss battles. For a change of pace, the game even offers occasional 2D gameplay. Powerful magic consumed the scattered leaves, brokers of the feline family, and even the fox cub, from which luck shifted away at the very last moment. Thus begins Lucky’s story and his voyage home.
Overview
It all started on one ill-fated day, when the unharmed world, along with its occupants, faded without a trace. It was then that an influential sorcerer named Jinx craved for the tremendous power that the Book of Ages could give him — an heirloom that could open doors to other spaces and measurements, which to this day were beneath the expectant eye of the order. The Guardians could not allow this, and they entered into a long and exhausting effort with their former friend. But the forces turned out to be unequal: the wizard, without a shadow of regret, with the help of spells, sent everyone who got in his way to unknown worlds, as far as possible from the Heavenly Castle. Moreover, a whole squad of his dangerous children, named Kotobrood, helped Jinx achieve his goal.

New Super Lucky’s Tale is a re-release of the colorful 2017 platformer solely on Xbox One. Curiously, this is not the first rethinking of the game near Lucky the fox: after all, initially, a project dubbed Lucky’s Tale was conceived especially for the Oculus Rift, and was public only to owners of the connected headset. Only a year later, the game without virtual reality support was terminated on a new platform. With each successive release, Playful has modified and reworked various features of its creation, so New Super Lucky’s Tale for Nintendo Switch has some significant distinctions from the Xbox One version.
