Description

Painkiller is a reimagining of the classic franchise, featuring co-op play for up to three players and full offline support—battle hordes of afflictions and titanic terrors across richly intricate gothic backdrops. Trapped in Purgatory, you are penalized for your wrongdoings against Heaven. But the Voice of the Creator gives you an option to save yourself. As one of the Champions, you are to stop the fallen angel Azazel, who is about to release his demonic armies onto Earth. You will face hordes of enemies, monsters with special powers, and three monstrous children of Azazel – the Nephilim. Purgatory Is Your Playground – Jump, dash, and hook across vast biomes while fighting enemies with a host of new and classic Painkiller weapons.

Overview

The central character in the Painkiller PC game is Alice Drake, a psychologist with the incredible power to enter the minds of her patients. Alice’s journey is as secret as it is professional. She must uncover the truth behind an alarming figure, the painkiller Devourer, rotting her patients’ minds. Along the way, Alice encounters twisted manifestations of her patients’ fears, from giant insects to monstrous abominations. As the protagonist, Alice’s mental muscles and decisiveness are tested as she dives deeper into these terrifying dream worlds. The painkiller Devourer is the game’s primary antagonist, a mysterious force that provides off dreams and turns them into nightmares. As the origin of much of the chaos in the game, this entity is both frightening and covered in mystery. Players will eventually face this evil company in a showdown, but not without first encountering their fears.
